Bayern Frauen Win 13th in a Row as Pernille Harder shows off. The chiefs of the league controlled Freiburg during the initial whistle at Dreisamstadion. The dominance of Bayern was also evident, despite the fact that Klara Buhl did not score or assist this time.
Pernille Harder was the star and she scored twice to bring her goals to nine this season. Bayern has depth in its team as shown by Germany captain Giulia Gwinn and Linda Dallmann who assisted two goals each. The new entrants were no exceptions. Edna Imade with a goal every two games in the last two games scored in four minutes of her debut with a superb first time finish.
Freiburg momentarily made the draw following a defensive mistake by Ena Mahmutovic, as had occurred with Manuel Neuer against TSG Hoffenheim. Bayern, however, soon regained the control and controlled the remaining part of the game. The attacking play of the team was spot-on, as there were quick transitions, and coordinated passes.
In the meantime, VfL Wolfsburg had suffered frustration because their match in Bremen was delayed. Coach Stephan Lerch complained of the delay. Wolfsburg now has to look forward to the postponed match as it continues to monitor the impressive streak by Bayern.
Bayern will then be heading to play Jena who they have not defeated this season. The fans will be keenly following up with whether the champions are able to maintain the winning streak and keep the pressure at the top of the Frauen-Bundesliga. Bayern is ready to reach even more with Harder in form and with the squad playing consistently, they should be able to break the record even further.
