In response to speculations of an Al-Hilal bid, Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim said Bruno Fernandes wants to stay. The Saudi Pro League (SPL) team is reportedly willing to pay £100m for Manchester United captain Fernandes, making him one of the world’s highest-paid players.
United boss Amorim was unconcerned by the rumors and believed Fernandes would stay. Fernandes expects the United to change things, he added.
“I don’t think so,” he answered.
Not sure, nobody knows, but I don’t think so. He’s watching us modify things, therefore I think he wants to stay.
“He rejects many things but wants to win. This young, talented player deserves to play in the world’s greatest league.
We can discover another means to earn money.”
Although the United have struggled this season, Fernandes has scored 19 goals and set up 20 in all competitions. The United captain said he needed to ‘look at himself’ after losing the Europa League final and wants to get the club back on track.
As everyone in that dressing room, I want to return the club to its rightful place. We couldn’t win a trophy for this club to salvage a terrible season, so it’s a very disappointing day.
“But obviously, we need to look at ourselves, understand what each of us can do to help the team improve.”
