Brazil World Cup Warm-up Win was against Egypt (2-1) when the team took the win in their final pre-World Cup warm up game, combining attacking prowess and defensive shortcomings that will be of concern to Carlo Ancelotti, regardless of the result. Brazil got off to a flying start and led off in the 7th minute. Bruno Guimaraes found the net after capitalising on a defensive mistake at the edge of the box. Brazil were aggressive and got the goal in early, as they had transitioned to defence effectively.
Egypt reacted almost instantaneously. But poor pass from Marquinhos into a chance, Mostafa Zico being the man to finish it off with a decent pass. Brazil’s occasional lack of concentration at the back was revealed in the quick equaliser, and could prove to be costly at tournament level. Even though the Brazilian duo of Vinícius Júnior and Raphinha came up with a number of solid attacking efforts, Egypt’s keeper Mostafa Shobeir made crucial saves to keep the competition level.
Brazil dominated play and generated more opportunities, but were unable to convert any before half-time. Ancelotti made eight changes at half-time, and the changes paid off once more. Endrick was replaced on and was able to score the winning goal shortly after coming on. He finished from a brilliant cutback by Raphinha after a powerful run down the flank. In the second half of the game, Brazil appeared more organized and played the game well, which led to victory. They were also the most dominant in the attacking phase with more than their fair share of expected goals on the table.
