Who Is Benjamin Sesko Joining Manchester United?

British media reported Thursday that Manchester United and RB Leipzig have signed forward Benjamin Sesko.

Expected payment is £66.3m (76.5m euros) plus add-ons in the £73.7m (85m euros) agreement. Sesko will have a physical on Friday and complete other formalities before joining Old Trafford, reports say.

Benjamin Sesko reportedly said he wants to play at Old Trafford next season. Considering the situation, Leipzig rested the Slovenian international in their Saturday friendly against Atalanta.

Newcastle United also wanted Sesko, while Premier League leaders Liverpool’s interest in Alexander Isak raised concerns.

Leipzig rejected Newcastle’s £65m offer with £4.3m in add-ons over the weekend. Magpies then made a better bid of at least £70million on Monday night. The 22-year-old Slovenian attacker has scored 39 goals in 87 Leipzig appearances.

Sesko will join Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, who Ruben Amorim signed this summer for about £130m, in United’s attack.

United are smartly using these finances to buy these players, and they might raise another £50m by signing Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho from Chelsea, who can leave Old Trafford this summer.

In the last two seasons, Rasmus Hojlund has scored just 14 Premier League goals and is available for £40m.
