Chelsea Midfielder Palmer Returns Against Arsenal

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca confirmed that Cole Palmer is expected to return to the club in a big manner in Sunday when the club faces Arsenal in the premier league. The 23 year old has had a frustrating season whereby he has suffered a groin injury coupled with a toe fracture, limiting him to only one appearance in this season.

Maresca acclaimed the impact that Palmer had on the team and stressed the importance of putting him back into full fitness. The manager said: “He is our best player, we are glad to have him back. Hopefully his presence will be vital in bridging the six point gap between Chelsea and Arsenal on top of the table.

His last outing was on September 20 against Manchester United, since then, Chelsea has had 13 matches in all the competitions, and they have won 10 matches, drawn once, and lost twice. Signed in 2023 in a PS40m deal with Manchester City, Palmer will continue to be a major goal-scoring threat and has been the top goal-scorer in both the preceding years in the Premier League with Chelsea.

The game on Sunday against Stamford Bridge has a huge consequence to the title race and the introduction of Palmer is likely to give Chelsea firepower and creativity that they can use to defy the leadership of Arsenal in London. The England international will be keen to appear before the fans again.
