The squad of City champions league has been updated with new January signings. Pep Guardiola now possesses additional possibilities of the Round of 16. Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi were recruited into the first team of the club. Prior to the winter window, City had a List A squad of 23 men.
According to the rules of UEFA, there should be a maximum number of 25 players on this list. Two of them should be goalkeepers. The team already featured Gianluigi Donnarumma, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and James Trafford. Semenyo and Guehi are also now capable of playing in the Champions League knockout with the new additions.
In the meantime, Stefan Ortega and Oscar Bobb have been ousted following their transfers to Nottingham Forest and Fulham respectively. Besides List A, City has a number of young talents on List B. Such players as Max Alleyne, Kian Noble, Stephen Mfuni, Charlie Gray, Divine Mukasa, and Tyrone Samba get added to Rico Lewis and Nico O’Reilly. List B contains players born after 1 January 2004 and who are eligible according to the UEFA rules. This is because it guarantees young promising kids to attend matches in Europe.
The winter additions provide tactic flexibility to Guardiola. Semenyo will enhance the attack of City, and Guehi will enhance the defense. Both the players are now given an opportunity to make an actual impact in Europe. The fans in the city will follow these signings keenly since they will determine their champions league campaign. The new team of City demonstrates a well-thought-out team. Striking a balance between old heads and youths has been an agenda. The crew has gained new strength and dimension into the knockout rounds.
