Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who is now Red Bull’s worldwide soccer head, is set to wait until 2026 to manage again, foreign media reported on Wednesday.
Klopp “currently goes no further than Red Bull” according to a reputable English tabloid, ending Real Madrid’s ambitions of hiring him. Reports said that Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso and former Liverpool manager were the frontrunners to replace Carlo Ancelotti after Real Madrid’s Champions League loss.
The Copa del Rey final will be crucial for Ancelotti’s future, with rumours saying a loss will pack bags and a win might keep him at the club. However, Madrid’s current form makes it difficult for Los Blancos to upset La Liga’s toppers, whom they have already lost to in a cup final.
His agent said Klopp “is very happy with his new role” at Red Bull, denying claims that the 57-year-old German football manager is unhappy.
After 23 years as a manager, the German football coach left Liverpool last season after winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup twice, FIFA Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup since 2015.
