Liverpool’s Slot Backs Record Signing Isak

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has encouraged fans to be patient with the club’s record signing, Alexander Isak, as he gets ready to rejoin the team before the upcoming Premier League match against Manchester City this weekend.

Isak, the Newcastle United recruit in a record-breaking 125 million transfer in September, returned to training on Friday after three weeks of rest. Since he was replaced in the Champions League victory over Eintracht Frankfurt last month, the Swedish striker has not played.

At his pre-match press meeting, Slot has commended the progress of Isak but made it clear that it is time before the 25-year-old is in full match fitness.

Slot said that after three weeks, he will train with the team for the first time. Rehab does not make you return to the heights you had before.

The season of Liverpool has been rocky, with major injuries and poor consistency wrecking their drive to the Premier League title. Reds are currently trailing the top of the table, with Arsenal and Manchester City closing the six-point gap on the leaders.

The Dutch manager also provided positive news regarding the goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who has been out of the field since early October due to a hamstring injury.

Alisson indeed, and I would hope Jeremie back after the international break too since we are playing as far as November to February.

The future games of Liverpool may make or break their campaign, as the match with City may be considered a serious test of their strength and stamina. There will be a hope among the fans that the reintegration of Isak will enhance the team’s attacking options, especially since Real Madrid is awaiting the knockout stages of the Champions League towards the end of this month.
