On Wednesday, AC Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare announced that Luka Modric would join. Modric revealed in May that he would quit Real Madrid following the FIFA Club World Cup after 13 years and 28 titles, including six Champions League wins. Tare said the Croatian agreed to join the club in personal negotiations earlier this month.
“He seemed competitive when I met him. Leaders like him are needed, so his arrival is important “Tare stated.
Luka originally asked: ‘Will we be a championship-winning team?’ He wants to be a star from the outset after winning six Champions Leagues.
“His leadership, professionalism, and mindset are crucial. Being an AC Milan supporter makes this tale even more thrilling, and he should have a terrific season before the World Cup.”
Milan and Modric have accepted personal terms, and the Croatian will join in July after the Club World Cup. His €3.5 million ($4m) per season deal can be extended for another year. After Tijjani Reijnders joined Manchester City for €68 million, the Italian club signed Modric.
