Ronaldo Hints at Retirement After 952 Goals

The legendary striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, has suggested that his days in football career are approaching the end. In an interview with a journalist, Piers Morgan, the 40-year-old Al-Nassr star confessed that the time to retire is soon, an event, which he predicts will be emotional, given more than 20 years of being the top football player in the world.

“It will be hard,” Ronaldo said. “I’ll probably cry. I have been planning it since I was 25 years old.

The Portuguese captain who was still a part of the Al-Nassr and the national team also looked back at how his perception on success has changed. It is fantastic to be the first football billionaire, he said. However, now I simply want to train, play, and compete in my favorite game.

In the international scene, Ronaldo has rewritten history books scoring 143 goals in 225 appearances for Portugal making his country win the first major title in its entire history Euro 2016 and two titles in the UEFA Nations League.

Throughout his tenures with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al-Nassr, he has scored a total of 952 goals and is determined to achieve the goal of the mythical 1,000 goals before he retires.
