According to international media reports on Wednesday, Real Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois wants to race in GT3 after he stops playing football. He also wants to move up to Formula 2 in motorsport.
Courtois, who is 33 years old, runs his own motorsport team, TC Racing, which he bought in 2023. He went to the Belgian Grand Prix in Spa last weekend.
The Madrid icon claimed he wants to move his team to the next level, even if they are presently racing in Formula 4.
“We’re racing in Formula 4 in Spain right now, but normally we’d move up a level next year by racing in the Eurocup-3,” Courtois remarked.
“Formula 1 might be hard, so I’d need a really big partner. But our goal and dream is to move up to Formula 3 and eventually, if all goes well, Formula 2.
Courtois is one of the top goalkeepers in the world. He has won five championships with Madrid, including three LaLiga trophies and two Champions Leagues.
He has also put money into a number of enterprises, such as the esports team DUX Gaming and TC Racing, in addition to playing football.
Courtois claimed that after he quits playing football, he wants to try racing to see how good he is. He remarked, “When I stop playing football, that would be a dream come true, like being in a GT3 race.”
“But I don’t know what I’m good at, and I don’t want to be three seconds behind everyone else if I join something. First, I want to know what I can do.
