According to West Ham United manager Nuno Espirito Santo, Lucas Paqueta is emotionally unstable after receiving a red card against Liverpool. It happened in the final few minutes of the 2-0 loss on Sunday when Paquetá was shown two bookings in less than 60 seconds to dissent.
The Brazilian kept arguing with referee Darren England despite his teammates trying to calm him down and he was eventually sent off. The Football Association was later publicly criticized by Paquetá, who pointed out that the association provided no psychological support when he was involved in a long-term spot-fixing investigation. In July, he was cleared of any charges but claimed that the process had a toll on his mental health.
Paquetaca posted on social media that it was ridiculous to have a two-year impact on your life and career without any psychological support of the federation. He has apologized to his team mates and fans and claimed that he has been dismissed without justifiable reasons.
Nuno Espirito Santo affirmed that Paquetaca was sorry and he will go on. The manager said that he is disappointed and sad but understands where the error he made was. Lucas is not all right and he is in pain, yet he does not want to achieve this situation.
In 2022, West Ham signed Paquetá with a contract of 5 years with Olympique Lyonnais. Nuno, however, stressed that the midfielder was happy in the East London club even though there are rumors that he is planning to move elsewhere.
Hammers will be interested in recuperating their next game against Manchester United at the 5 th of December and Paquetá will probably make a difference in their midfield. The club is also hoping that his emotional problems will not affect his future performances.
