The Panama team has been beaten 1–0 by Croatia in their final FIFA World Cup 2026 Group L match at Toronto Stadium, putting the final nail in their elimination dream.
The breakthrough was in the 54th minute, when Josip Stanisic’s well thrown cross found its target in the shape of Ante Budimir, who converted with a neat finish to give Croatia all 3 points. The victory will help Croatia bounce back from their recent defeat and stay close to the knockout stage finish.
Although Panama had a very good defensive organization, they were unable to convert possession opportunities into identifiable attacking results. Thomas Christiansen, head coach, said that no team could win a game if they don’t score, which sums up a basic shortcoming.
