Barcelona Crush Rayo In Five-Goal Win

Raphinha and Lamine Yamal fired two home goals as Barcelona defeated Rayo 5-2 on Monday at Camp Nou to keep the season off to a 50-game winning streak. But Rayo Vallecano got down to business in the 12th minute, scoring an early lead for them from the Sergio Camello effort. But Barcelona soon found themselves in the right hands.

Three minutes later, Yamal had a lovely individual shot before it was scored again in the 19th minute by Raphinha. The teenager sliced in and curled a left-footed shot into the top corner to bring Barcelona’s comeback from the setback.

After the break Hansi Flick’s side dominated the contest and they took the lead in the 51st minute. Florian Lejeune made an unfortunate save of a cross from Anthony Gordon to his own net, giving Rayo a difficult save. The visitors’ spirits were buoyed when Camello headed home in from a corner eight minutes in making it 3-2. Barcelona struck back and denied Rayo the opportunity to return to the game.

Raphinha kicked Barcelona back into two-ways with his fifth goal of the season in the 71st minute. Gordon was once again very important as he found the Brazilian winger with a nifty assiter back over his shoulder. Yamal then got the clinching goal in the 90th minute when he sent a low effort home to complete another remarkable attacking effort from him.

It keeps Barcelona in the lead of the early LaLiga table with a record of 3-0. Their performance was also a sign of how much they are becoming an attacking force with their new signing Gordon, Yamal and Raphinha. Barcelona will now try to continue their early energy when it comes to defending their title.
